“What about the children?” A question that often plagues my mind. It appears to have become a common occurrence for children to fall victim at the hands of “predators”.

These individuals that we refer to as “predators” are often identified as a parent to a child or someone whom the child may trust. However, in some cases the individual is completely unknown to a child.

What must be made clear is that children cannot speak for themselves. This enables a “predator” to prey upon children using tactics of manipulation and fear. They are empowered by the control that they can possess.

Child murders, trafficking, rape, and abuse is on an up rise. Therefore, it is evident that we must advocate for children.

It is our responsibility, our duty to be their voices and to ensure that they are protected and properly cared for.

As someone who has experienced abuse, I am familiar with the horrors that a child is faced with at the hands of a “predator”.

Guidance and nurture are essential to aid in their structure and growth as individuals. They are human beings and deserve to make an impact on society.

A child’s life matters!

One of the most profound and undeniable truths is that children are indeed our future.

While society has shifted gears and landed in a place of uncertainty, some of the most precious lives have unmistakably been disregarded.

It is a feeling that a child never forgets and an unfortunate circumstance for those that lose their life as a result.

I cannot stress enough the importance of speaking out and reporting suspected abuse. This is a true act of courage and one that will potentially save a life.

PLEASE SPEAK OUT AND REPORT ABUSE BECAUSE A CHILD’S LIFE MATTERS!

After she recovered, I started volunteering at a local children’s hospital, hoping to give back the same sense of hope we were given. That experience taught me that…
